SolarSeal PV Metal Roof System™ (patents pending) matches the latest photovoltaic technologies with high performance elastomeric coatings and creates a leak-proof photovoltaic metal roof system over all existing architectural standing seam and R-panel industrial metal roofs.
Commercial buildings with metal roofs use industrial R-panel roof panels or the newer architectural standing-seam roof panels. Metal R-panel roofs have a history of developing roof leaks with to their exposed fasteners and overlapped side panel seams. Both metal panel types can use complex surface profiles and striations or pencil beading to structurally strengthen the metal roof panels and to limit oil canning.
SolarSeal Technologies ™ offers a number of installation solutions for different metal roof panel profiles. Both R-type roof panels and the architectural snap seam metal panels are waterproofed using elastomeric coatings designed to work with each specific type of metal roof surface.
Once flat surface metal roofs are waterproofed, solar modules are applied to the coated metal surface. Custom inter-ply materials
such as synthetic textiles, polymers, insulation or radiant water modules
are used to bridge irregular metal panel surfaces and exposed fasteners. Inter-ply material are flashed and sealed to the metal roof panels. Photovoltaic modules are bonded to the inter-ply components and flashed and sealed, creating a continuous, seamless, waterproofed roof surface.
The SolarSeal Roof System™ is a long term solar waterproofing solution for metal roofs, easy to maintain and renewed without affecting the photovoltaic system’s power production. Using insulated inter-ply materials between the module and metal with the white elastomeric coating reduces metal roof surface temperatures, lowering cooling cost.
